Business has been a part of Norm Robinson's life since his youth and he loves it!
As a kid Norm had a paper route, mowed lawns, shoveled snow, and sold greeting cards. He worked part-time from the age of 14 to help his Mom, who was a bookkeeper.
Norm found an interest in journalism in high school on the school newspaper and yearbook. When he was a senior, he worked the 4 - 10 p.m. shift at the City Desk of the local newspaper. After graduation, Norm spent 14 months as an infantryman in Vietnam ('68-'69). He then came home and earned his college degree in Mass Communications. The last three years in college he also worked as a TV reporter and on-air guy.
Norm prepared well for the agency business. He has worked as a commercial photographer and as an associate editor and sales rep for a monthly city magazine. Plus, as director of sales for a hotel-motel group, Norm was responsible for all promotions and advertising. He succeeded in attracting a large volume of corporate business to the regional lodging chain.
In 1981, Norm joined a small ad agency in Fargo. He spent four years there, rising from account manager to executive vice president and minority partner. In 1985, he founded Advertising Marketing.
Besides operating the agency business, Norm's major responsibility is to work closely with clients in developing their marketing strategies and assisting in the execution. He excels at business and sales consulting, helping to integrate "big picture" strategies with everyday people and operations. When you need a problem solver, Norm fills the bill.
